FAA Investigates O'Hare 'Bumping' Incident

No One Hurt In United Airlines Ground Collision

Was it the early morning fog, a traffic controller's inattention, or pilot error? That is what the FAA is looking into after a United Airlines 737 bound for Dulles clipped a company Airbus A320 as it turned onto a taxiway at Chicago's O'Hare Airport.

UPI reports both planes were preparing to take off when the incident occurred at about 8am Tuesday morning.

The left wing of a Boeing 737-200 Flight 732, bound for Dulles Airport outside Washington, clipped the tail of an Airbus A320, Flight 672, bound for New York's LaGuardia International Airport, a United spokesman told the Chicago Tribune.

All 226 passengers on both planes continued their trip on alternate flights on two of United Airlines remaining undented planes.
