Source: US Attorney Christopher Christie, in Friday's sentencing hearing for David Banach, the New Jersey resident who aimed a Class 3a laser at a Cessna business jet flying over his house in December 2004. Under terms of a plea deal, Banach escaped a possible 20-year stint in federal prison with two years probation, and payment of a small fine. Banach expressed remorse over the ordeal, and says people should not purchase the easily-available lasers.
