User Fee Panel Set For Ocala, FL

Funding ATC System To Be Discussed

"General Aviation At The Crossroads" will feature a panel of four aviation experts in Ocala, FL Wednesday night for a discussion and question and answer session on possible user fees and funding for the federal ATC system.

Event organizer David Keith of Ocala concieved of the discussion, and he tells ANN that NBAA has been instrumental in helping put the event together.

The invited panelists include:

  • Lisa Piccione, Sr. VP for Gov't. Affairs, NBAA.
  • Jerry Walbrun, EAA Staff (Retired)now Current Chapter 812 President.
  • Ruth E. Marlin, Former Exec. VP of NATCA, Doctor of Public Administration and author of "Understanding ATC Funding".
  • Bob Showalter, representing the Alliance for Aviation Across America.  Showalter will report on the high cost of flying in Europe because of the long-time user fee structure in place there.

The meeting is planned for the Quality Inn Ocala Hotel & Conference Center from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, August 12th, The hotel is located at state road 40 at the I-75 Exit. For those wishing to fly in for the meeting, there will be no landing or ramp fees, and complimentary transportation will be provided from the hotel to the meeting.
