Robert Johns, Managing Principal of Summit Growth Solutions LLC, has joined the Board of Directors of Bye Aerospace, Inc. In addition, Jack J. Pelton, former Chairman, President and CEO of Cessna Aircraft Company, was named Vice Chairman of the Bye Aerospace Board.

Johns has 30 years of experience in the global commercialization of specialty materials at Dow Corning Corporation where he served in a variety of global leadership positions in industries including electronics, solar, chemicals, defense, petroleum and other specialty material segments. As the Global Director of New Business Programs in the Advanced Technologies and Ventures Business, he led teams to collaborate with federal congressional delegations and state economic development stakeholders to build new venture businesses within Dow Corning. From 2007 to 2008 he worked in Shanghai, China to refocus strategies and resources to target the growing middle market. As Managing Principal of Summit Growth Solutions, Johns now assists firms with discovering new, innovative and profitable growth.

George Bye, CEO of Bye Aerospace, said Johns brings a unique skill set to the board, particularly his expertise in identifying and executing business growth opportunities. “Bye Aerospace has benefited from Bob’s contributions as a strategic advisor over the past year, and we are grateful for his participation,” Bye said. “Like our company, he is focused on results.”

“Bye Aerospace has an exciting portfolio of opportunities, leveraging their unique capabilities and related engineering services,” Johns said.  “Working closely with customers, in collaboration with industry partners and various government stakeholders, we are commercializing advanced technologies and engineering concepts for various civil and defense aviation industry needs. I am delighted to join the board and work with the Bye Aerospace leadership team to achieve success for our customers and our shareholders.”

Bye also announced that Jack J. Pelton, former Chairman, President and CEO of Cessna Aircraft Company, was named Vice Chairman of the Board of Bye Aerospace. “We are working diligently to strengthen all aspects of the Company, and increased Board activity warrants the designation of a Vice Chairman,” Bye said. “We welcome Jack to this important position.”
