AD: Airbus SAS Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2019-06-09

PRODUCT: Certain Airbus SAS Model A350-941 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule; Request for comments

SUMMARY:  This AD was prompted by reports that baby bassinet inserts installed on airplane stowages and partitions were found loose because a self-securing fixation device (Loctite) had not been applied.

This AD requires repetitive tightness checks of the baby bassinet inserts installed on stowages and partitions and, depending on findings, accomplishment of applicable corrective actions, as specified in an European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference.

DATES: This AD becomes effective April 26, 2019. Comments must be received by May 28, 2019.

COST: Currently, there are no affected U.S.-registered airplanes. If an affected airplane is imported and
placed on the U.S. Register in the future, operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

  • 1 work-hour × $85 per hour = $85 per aircraft
  • On Condition Costs:
  • 1 work-hour × $85 per hour = $85 per aircraft
