California EAA Chapters Offer Air Academy Scholarship

Will Send One Youth To Summer Camp In Oshkosh

Two California EAA chapters are teaming up to provide a scholarship for a resident of Shasta, Tehama, and surrounding counties to attend the EAA Air Academy in Oshkosh August 1-9. The summer camp begins as AirVenture is ending, and the scholarship recipient will get to participate in some of the activities at the show.

The two chapters are 1148 in Corning and 157 in Redding, CA. The program is open to boys and girls aged 16-18, and the camp is scheduled for August 1-9 in Oshkosh.

Those attending the camp will experience an orientation flight, talk with top instructors, fly simulators, and take part in other aviation activities along with participating in AirVenture.

The Air Academy Lodge can accommodate 57 people and has a computer room, conference space, and flight simulation lab.

Youths interested in applying for the scholarship have until January 15 to complete and application including an essay outlining their interest in aviation. Applications will be provided by email from Chapter 157.
