Commends Performance In Support of Oceanic Flight
Communications
ARINC has received recognition from
the FAA for "ongoing outstanding performance" in providing
air-ground voice communications services in the FAA's Oceanic
Flight Information Regions. Under the current five year
Aeronautical Mobile Communications Service (AMCS) contract awarded
in September 2005, the FAA reviews ARINC's performance for each six
month period of the contract.
The latest FAA commendation is the seventh consecutive award
ARINC has received with an "excellent" service rating, the highest
available.
ARINC owns and operates radio
communications centers in California and New York. More than a
hundred ARINC operators work at these facilities, relaying over two
million voice and electronic messages annually between the FAA's
Air Traffic Controllers and aircraft over the oceans operating in
United States controlled airspace.
In commending ARINC for "ongoing outstanding performance," FAA
Program Manager Peter M. Vogt cited the company's responsiveness in
helping to address issues that have arisen during continuous
operation at all sites. "It continues to be a pleasure to work with
ARINC," he stated, adding that the company's "attention to detail
and quality control continue to indicate great service for the
Oceanic Air Traffic operations environment."
"ARINC is very pleased to receive this commendation from our
long-time FAA customer," stated Ron Hawkins, ARINC Vice-President,
Commercial Aviation Solutions. "Oceanic voice radio has been the
principal means of communication for commercial aircraft traveling
the Pacific and North Atlantic air routes for more than half a
century. ARINC takes pride in being the only company ever to
perform this vital mission for the FAA." In addition to the
recognition, ARINC received a maximum performance-based monetary
incentive award which is shared with the staffs at the centers.
