Airborne 06.21.13: FAA Flips The Birds, 787-10 Launched, Diamond Agreement

The FAA is requiring Operation Migration to acquire new airplanes to lead endangered whooping cranes from their summer range to Florida for the winter in coming years, and the pilots flying those airplanes will have private pilot licenses.

But, the FAA is giving the non-profit until April of next year to accomplish the changeover! Boeing has launched the 787-10 Dreamliner, the third member of the 787 family, at the Paris Air show. Saying that local aviation in Russia (is undergoing) a severe crisis, Russia Ural Works of Civil Aviation (UWCA), a Rostec subsidiary, and Austria's Diamond Aircraft Industries (DAI) have signed an agreement for the joint design and production of a series of light utility aircraft (LUA) in Russia.
