GAMA Partners With IMC Clubs For AirVenture IFR Proficiency Center

Three Seminars Will Be Held At Oshkosh This Summer

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) is teaming up with the IMC Club to host three instrument flying proficiency seminars at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in July. 

The seminars at AirVenture will focus on improving instrument proficiency through a modified version of the IMC Club’s chapter meetings. The National Transportation Safety Board will also be on hand to present at the seminars. “GAMA is proud to be involved with the IMC Club and its proven method of promoting safe instrument flying operations and pilot currency,” said GAMA president and CEO Pete Bunce. “Every instrument rated pilot can benefit from these forums and what better place to do it than at the greatest aviation event in the world.”

The IMC Club was founded in 2010 with the goal to increase proficiency and improve safety among instrument rated pilots. The club has grown rapidly and currently has 1350 members in 31 chapters in the United States and one in Botswana, Africa. The club aims to create local communities of instrument rated pilots and those aspiring to achieve this rating. They meet monthly in a forum of organized “hangar flying” where pilots share information and encourage safer instrument flying amongst their peers.
