United Airlines reported in a statement last week that their CEO, Oscar Munoz, who has been on medical leave since October, underwent a heart transplant operation.

It’s reported that a transplant was considered the preferred treatment and was not the result of a setback in his recovery. United said they expect him to return to his position at the end of the first quarter or the beginning of the second quarter of this year. British Airways has shelved a plan to turn household waste into biofuel in light of falling oil prices and the bankruptcy filing by its partner in the program. The airline had partnered with U.S.-based Solena Fuels Corporation to build a plant in Essex for the "Green Sky London" project. UAV manufacturer 3DR announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week that it has new software coming for its Solo drone sometime this spring. The software update will include Multipoint cable cam and Follow with Free Look, which extends the platform’s four existing Smart Shots. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
