Cirrus Unveils 'Signature Edition' SR22

Commemorates Company's 22nd Birthday

From a little blue barn in Baraboo, MN... to having the best-selling GA aircraft type on the market, all in the course of 22 years. It would be a profound understatement to say that Cirrus Design has experienced several changes within that time... and to commemorate the birth of the company, Cirrus has revealed a new variant on the SR22, the Cirrus Signature Edition.

"What Cirrus has accomplished is quite amazing," said Cirrus Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, John M. Bingham. "This is particularly true, given the immense growth and success of the company that took place during an extremely difficult time, in personal aviation. It is only fitting, with the popularity of the SR22, that we celebrate Cirrus' 22nd birthday with a production run of only 50 SE-SR22s".

In keeping with a true special edition aircraft, Cirrus reports the SE is very easy to distinguish from the other SR22s currently being flown. The exterior appointments include red and yellow stripes, over a checkered flag pattern. The interior black leather seating is highlighted in red stitching, and includes custom floor mats, a keepsake Mont Blanc pen (!) and other comfort upgrades.

Also, the unique SE has the signatures of both Alan and Dale Klapmeier on the fuselage.

Customers may purchase the SE with or without the recently announced Cirrus/Tornado Alley Turbo charged package.  Those who select the SE wi

th the turbo option will also receive a three-blade lightweight ASC-II Hartzell composite propeller as standard equipment, as well as a built in oxygen system.

"The Cirrus team wanted to celebrate Cirrus' 22nd birthday with an aircraft that exemplifies the essence of the company, innovation, performance and value," said Cirrus President and COO David Coleal said. "It is our desire to continue to expand the horizon of personal aviation...and have a little creative fun at the same time".

Be sure to check out the limited-run SR22-Signature Edition, as it makes its debut at EAA AirVenture 2006.
