Low-Cost Regional Carrier Not Part Of Mesa Restructuring

Hawaii's go! Mokulele, Hawaii’s said Tuesday it is not included in the Mesa Air Group (“Mesa”) Chapter 11 proceedings. Mesa provides regional jet services to go! Mokulele under a flight services agreement. The joint venture is a separate entity and is not included in the Mesa Chapter 11 proceedings.

“The people of Hawaii have come to rely on go! Mokulele for low-fare inter-island travel and our commitment to them remains unwavering. go! Mokulele looks forward to a long history,” said Jonathan Ornstein, Chairman and Chief Executive of Mesa Air Group. “During the Mesa Air Group restructuring go! Mokulele will continue to operate as before, outside of Chapter 11. Customers can be assured that tickets will continue to be sold and honored, all terms and conditions governing tickets purchased remain the same, and our frequent flyer program remains intact.”

Founded in 2006, go!, which operates up to 60 flights daily from its Honolulu hub to Lihue’, Kahului, Kona, and Hilo, became go! Mokulele in 2009 as a joint venture between Mesa Air Group and Mokulele Airlines, go! Mokulele has grown into the second largest carrier in Hawaii.

“In both November and December our year over year traffic numbers increased, further reinforcing the importance and value of go! Mokulele to Hawaii and its travelers,” added Orenstein. “While the Mesa Air Group restructuring will not affect go! Mokulele operations, the purpose of the transaction is to strengthen the Company and all of its subsidiaries and joint ventures.”
