Cirrus Breaks Delivery And Sales Records Again

Cirrus: SR22 Is World's 'Best Selling Aircraft for Five Consecutive Years'

With five straight years of record-breaking deliveries and sales, Cirrus Design Corporation has reported their best-ever delivery results, and continue to hold the accolade of being the manufacturer of the worlds No.-1 selling aircraft.

For 2006, Cirrus reported total year-end deliveries of 721 deliveries, up 20% over last year's record breaking deliveries. According to sales figures from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), Cirrus also ended the year with all-time-record sales of 760 aircraft.

"It's a great achievement to be number one for the fifth year, but that's not our key driving factor," said John M. Bingham, Cirrus Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  "Our continued success is due to the dedication of our domestic and international teams to deliver the ultimate aircraft while providing the ultimate customer experience.  It's all about our employees, our partners, our suppliers, the loyalty of our customers, and the commitment of our international sales centers to provide an exceptional owner experience."

"Cirrus has continued to make great strides in opening new international markets; in fact 25 % of our deliveries were to these markets. We're seeing unprecedented demand for airplanes that are innovative, technologically-advanced, comfortable and safe - all of the qualities that made Cirrus a leader in the domestic market." Bingham said.  The Brazilian market was the largest individual export market for Cirrus.

Additionally according to the GAMA figures, the Cirrus SR22 flagship airplane retains its crown as the world's best selling airplane in the single engine class.

With record-breaking new aircraft deliveries and sales, Cirrus introduced many new programs including Cirrus Certified, a pre-owned factory certified program in July of 2006 resulting in over 30 pre-owned aircraft sales in last few months of the year.

"We're pleased with our continued record sales, and we believe that Cirrus' innovation and technology has helped to lead the entire piston market with an overall total of deliveries of 721," added Bingham. The guiding principle of Cirrus is to focus on all the benefits of personal transportation aircraft, and the tremendous value to our customers, and that together the industry is destined for growth."
