RAF Awards Contract For 'Official Sensitive' Tablet Devices

Android, Windows, And iOS Devices All Included

The Royal Air Force has awarded its secure Official Sensitive Managed Mobility as a Service contract to Nine23 Ltd and Akhter Computers plc.

The award of contract is to create and secure an ecosystem for iOS, Android and Windows devices with accredited access to Official and Official Sensitive data used by RAF specialist engineers and RAF aircraft engineers across three stations.

The solution chosen was Nine23's Managed Mobility as a Service (MMaaS) with secure connectivity from encrypted device and SIM through to secure pan government accredited OFFICIAL cloud. This contract adds to Nine23's massively scalable ecosystem already deployed within the Royal Air Force, which allows all mobile devices to integrate into a centralized RAF mobility solution known as LINK.

Nine23 lead the way in defense and policing on MMaaS. They recruit from the front lines of the military and policing, and retrain personnel in digital solutions to focus their experience as users and ensure solutions are fit for purpose for our servicemen and women in the line of duty. Their primary objective is to bring Front Line Experience (FLX) to digital design, learning, software development and integration of the latest mobile technology, whilst leveraging capabilities and systems already in place within these sectors.
