The C-Drone Review Goes Live At Commercial UAV Expo Europe

Online News Source Covers The Civilian Drone Industry

The C-Drone Review, an independent online news source covering civilian drones and urban air mobility available in English and French, announces its official go-live at the Commercial UAV Expo Europe conference in Amsterdam.

Founded by French-American IT expert Sean Daly in 2016, the C-Drone Review first opened in password beta last September at the Interdrone show in Las Vegas, then opened publicly in soft launch on November 28 with temporary free access.

Hosted in Paris, the primary focus of the online publication is the United States and France, while other European countries and the rest of the world are also covered. The site features exclusive interviews with industry actors.

The rapidly evolving professional drone industry presents opportunities for new and efficient ways of working in sectors such as:

  • emergency response and public safety
  • construction, mining and infrastructure inspection
  • surveying and mapping
  • precision agriculture and environmental monitoring
  • logistics inventory or delivery
  • photography and filmmaking

At the same time, mixed public perception of civilian drones, and a varied regulatory landscape, bring complexity to the c-drone revolution. The C-Drone Review covers and explains innovations as they happen.

The coming automation of low-altitude airspace, called U-space or Unmanned aircraft Traffic Management (UTM), is laying the groundwork for the future urban air mobility of electric-powered air taxis, currently under development by dozens of companies with flights expected to begin within the next five to seven years.

The C-Drone Review eschews acronyms for drones such as UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), RPAS (Remotely Piloted Autonomous System), or sUAS (Small Unmanned Aerial System), none of which the public ever use. However, as the word "drone" as used by the public can also refer to large unmanned military craft, the term "c-drone" for civilian drone has been coined.
