ERAU Stages Pilot Recruitment Event

Workshop Aimed At Drawing Recruiters

"Airline Pilot Screening and Recruiting" is the title and topic of a special workshop on Aug. 29 and 30 in Atlanta. Sponsored by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and AirTran, the event is open and free to all airline recruiters who are responsible for hiring new pilots.

The workshop will take place at the Alteon Training Center (5155 Clipper Drive, College Park, GA), located across the street from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Sheraton Gateway Airport, where participants are encouraged to stay. The Sheraton Gateway will provide ground transportation to and from the airport and training center.

"The mission of Embry-Riddle is to continually work with airline hiring professionals like AirTran to develop screening best practices based on their input," said Martin Schaaf, executive director of the university's Commercial Airline Pilot Training (CAPT) Program and one of the workshop speakers. "Putting these practices to use in the selection and training process will ensure our hiring partners receive the right candidates and the best qualified."
