Legendary Manufacturer Continues To Reach Major Milestones In The Industry
With a pair of signatures, a nice round of applause, and the handing over of a shiny new set of keys, Mooney International completed delivery of the first production Ovation Ultra to its customer. It was the latest in a series of major milestones this year for the legendary Texas-based manufacturer as it continues to regain its leadership position in the general aviation market.
The M20U Ovation Ultra boasts class-leading speed and versatility, just like its sister aircraft, the turbo-charged M20V Acclaim Ultra. And, with its normally aspirated Continental IO-550 engine, the Ovation exhibits unbeatable range and efficiency.
Just as important, new Ovation Ultras come fully loaded with a beautifully redesigned leather interior, a pilot side door, wider cabin access, larger windows, and the latest Garmin G1000 NXi avionics suite.
“Our base model is really a fully loaded airplane – as we believe rather than upcharging customers for every feature, we should treat them with the same levels of respect and care they would receive when purchasing any top-of-the-line, world-class machine,” said Mooney’s marketing director, Lance Phillips. “We recognize this is a new way of thinking for general aviation, and we believe customers will be excited to discover it extends throughout our entire company” he continued.
In fact, one of the few customer-selectable options available on new Ovation and Acclaim Ultras is a TKS anti-icing system, manufactured by long-time Mooney supplier CAV Ice Protection – which is certified for flight into known icing (FIKI) conditions. CAV Ice Protection has been selected for this first production Ovation Ultra aircraft.
