Forbes Honors Hartzell Propeller

Propeller Maker Named a Top American Small Employer

Hartzell, the storied, Piqua, Ohio-based manufacturer of aircraft propeller systems, has been recognized as one of America’s best small employers by global financial media concern Forbes.

The honor was set forth in Forbes’s 2023 list of America’s Best Small Employers.

Hartzell Propeller—the flagship operation of parent entity Hartzell Aviation—is listed as the 64th best small employer among three-hundred organizations vetted by Forbes. Hartzell Propeller was listed, also, among the top-five Aerospace and Defense sector concerns.

The full list may be viewed under the America's Best Small Employers 2023 banner at www.forbes.com .

Hartzell Propeller president JJ Frigge remarked: “This national honor stems from a number of factors. It begins with a top-notch group of employees who care about our work and about each other. They live our motto Built on Honor. That’s our north-star and brings us together. We also have engaged owners who love the company and aviation. Collectively, we are a tight-knit group.”

Forbes, in developing the antecedent rankings, partnered with a research firm that employed a number of statistical and analytical tools—to include surveys and social listening techniques—to assess the reputation, and employee engagement and retention of companies employing between two-hundred and one-thousand workers.

The research firm’s efforts occasioned the garnering of hundreds of thousands of data points germane to an initial pool of ten-thousand employers across the U.S. The employers with the highest data points overall were included among the three-hundred companies cited in Forbes’s 2023 list of America’s top small employers.

In July 2022, Hartzell was reorganized under the auspices of Tailwind Technologies Inc. The emergent entity, Hartzell Aviation, encompasses a growing number of brands to include: Hartzell Propeller, Hartzell Aerospace Welding, and Hartzell Engine Tech.

Egan, Minnesota-based Hartzell Aerospace Welding specializes in general aviation aircraft exhaust systems and engine mount repair.
