Percepto Opening Florida Location

Automated Drone Inspection Company Strengthens Ties After Power & Light Deal

Not long after the announcement of its service agreement with Florida Power & Light, Percepto has announced it will open a new facility in Riviera Beach, Florida.

The new office will employ around 100 new personnel in technical, high-wage jobs at the 11,000 square-foot building. Percepto will invest several million dollars in the location, providing a more local resource for its newest client, aiding Florida Power & Light (FPL) with their remote monitoring network.

Percepto's AIM platform fully automates visual data workflows from capture to analysis, using their drone-in-a-box system as the core unit of information gathering. With their machine learning capabilities, Percepto allows end-to-end autonomous inspection and monitoring for long tracts of utilities that would be cost-prohibitive to scan manually. FPL selected the brand to serve as a bulwark against downtime, unfortunately all too common during hurricanes, storms, and inclement weather given the expansive network of above ground power lines required by the Florida terrain.

"We are very excited to open our new U.S. office in West Palm Beach after developing our presence in Texas. Given our work with FPL and our drone-in-box systems that can withstand Category 5 hurricane conditions, it was ideal to open a Florida office to best serve customers. We look forward to providing the U.S. southeast with durable and field-proven automated systems to help prevent serious failures, respond quickly to disasters, and enable business continuity remotely,” said Yorai Shmueli, Vice President of Operations, Percepto.

“We are thrilled that Percepto has chosen to locate its first U.S. assembly and manufacturing facility in Palm Beach County,” said Pam Rauch, FPL VP of economic development. Her office was crucial in helping Percepto get up and running as fast as they have. “This is a perfect example of how FPL’s world-class economic development team works with partners in our communities to attract these types of impactful companies and good-paying jobs to Florida. Welcome to the Percepto team and congratulations to the Business Development Board.”
