Croatia Grounds European Coastal Airlines

Suspends Air Operator's Certificate, Nordic Seaplanes Also Affected

The Air Operator's Certificate for European Coastal Airlines (ECA) has been suspended by the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency (CCAA) after deficiencies were discovered during a recent safety and maintenance audit.

While there has been no official notice posted to the CCAA website, ECA is no longer listed as one of the country's certified carriers, according to a report posted to CH-Aviation.

The move by the CCAA has also affected Nordic Seaplanes, which had been operating under EAC's license. That carrier was grounded for six days before getting the authorization to begin flying again, according to a release posted Tuesday on its website.

European Coastal Airlines posted on its Facebook page that the airline plans to begin flying again on Thursday.
