Cirrus Aircraft Announces International Expansion In Japan

Move Allows Cirrus To Tap Into The Worlds 2nd Largest Economy

Cirrus Aircraft is reaching into additional international markets with the addition of Lotus Air Corporation (Cirrus Japan), as the newest international Cirrus Sales Center.  Lotus Air will partner with Hirata Gakuen Kobe Air Center, Kobe Airport, Tokyo Japan, to serve as the sales and distribution center for Cirrus Japan.

Makoto Taguchi, Marketing Director, Cirrus Japan, commented "As the designated Cirrus Aircraft sales provider for the region, our main goal is to drive the sales growth and market representation of the Cirrus product line and to inspire the improvement of the Japanese general aviation environment."

At the recent grand opening held on July 8, 2009, attendees were introduced to the large facility, with the capacity to house over 30 small aircraft, an executive lounge for aircraft owners and pilots, as well as conference rooms and other multi-purpose areas.  During the event, Cirrus SR22 aircraft were on display.

"Japan has Asia's largest economy, second in the world," commented Ian Bentley, Vice President and Managing Director of International Sales, "I am optimistic that the new Cirrus Japan team will demonstrate that general aviation has a major role to play in that region, as well as Japan."

Vice President of Marketing, Todd Simmons said, "Many regions of Japan are expanding, creating a need for an efficient means of transportation within the country. Cirrus are the perfect airplane for regional travel missions. Cirrus' industry credibility is a key component in maximizing the potential of this growing market and expanding the utility of general aviation into the region."

In addition to sales, Cirrus Japan is working toward becoming an Authorized Service Center in the near future, offering transition training, demonstration flights, and aircraft maintenance.
