Q400 Smart Parts Agreement With Japan Air Commuter Extended

Renewal Customized for Commuter Carrier's Operational Performance Requirements

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that it has signed a comprehensive, five-year agreement with Japan Air Commuter to renew its Smart Parts program coverage for the Japanese regional carrier’s 11 Q400 turboprops. The program renewal is customized to the airline’s specific operational and performance needs and will continue to provide Japan Air Commuter with competitive and predictable repair costs for key components for its Q400 turboprop fleet through April of 2018.

"The entire team is deeply engaged in ensuring that our Smart Parts program meets Japan Air Commuter's exacting parts quality and performance standards, which are our core strengths as the OEM," said Gary Martin, Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Service Programs, Customer Services, Bombardier Aerospace. “We look forward to building on our long-standing relationship with Japan Air Commuter and helping contribute to their success."

With the Smart Parts extension, Bombardier will continue to provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, tailored to meet Japan Air Commuter's specific requirements on a broad range of components and will provide around-the-clock repair management services to ensure maximized aircraft availability.

"By selecting Bombardier's new Smart Parts program for our Q400 aircraft component support, we expect to benefit from its quality and service level," said Yasushi Tokuda, General Manager, Maintenance Planning and Administration, Japan Air Commuter. "Passengers boarding our fleet can count on next to no itinerary changes and on-time schedules."

Japan Air Commuter was the first commercial airline to choose Smart Parts for its Q400 aircraft and is now part of a worldwide Q400 and Q400 NextGen turboprop operator community, spanning airlines in Europe, North America and Asia, enrolled in the OEM-designed support program. Prior to introducing the Q400 aircraft Smart Parts program in March 2008, the pioneering Smart Parts program had been providing cost protection and budget predictability for Bombardier’s business aircraft customers for more than 25 years. There are currently more than 1,200 Bombardier business aircraft enrolled, covering over 35,000 components.
