From College to Right Seat in Insufficient Time

On 25 April 2023, Allegiant Travel Company announced the launch of its Accelerate Pilot Pathway, a nascent initiative ostensibly benefiting university students pursuing pilot careers with major airlines. For purpose of making its Accelerate Pilot Pathway program available to college sophomores, juniors, and seniors,  Allegiant is partnering with universities offering Part 141 flight training programs.

The FAA’s Airman Testing division has disclosed it has been working in cooperation with its testing vendor, PSI Services, to scientifically assess existing FAA Airman Knowledge Tests. Assessments of the Private Pilot Airplane and Commercial Pilot Airplane Knowledge Tests have been completed. Pan Am Flight Academy just obtained a new Level D B737 MAX-8 simulator to enhance its commercial pilot training offerings. Storied B-24 Builders Enjoy Talons Out Honor Flight

Kalamazoo, Michigan-based aircraft management concern and aircraft charter operator RAI Jets was proud in the utmost to help coordinate the 2023 Talons Out Honor Flight—a noble undertaking by dint of which nine ladies from the Eastern Michigan Women Ordnance Chapter (WOW) of the American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA) were flown to Washington D.C. for a grand excursion.

On 24 April 2023, Canada’s Minister of Transportation, the Honorable Omar Alghabra, announced that proposed amendments to the Canada Transportation Act had been introduced as part of Bill C-47, the Budget Implementation Act. If codified, subject amendments would, ostensibly, strengthen Canada’s passenger rights regime, streamline the processes for administering air travelers’ complaints before the Canadian Transportation Agency, and increase air carriers’ accountability.

On 25 April 2023, Milwaukee-headquartered Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) Jet IN announced the completion and grand opening of its new business and general aviation facility on Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport (MKE). The $11-million FBO complex features a ten-thousand-square-foot passenger terminal, a forty-thousand-square-foot aircraft hangar, a ten-thousand-square-foot aircraft maintenance facility, and more than three-acres of dedicated ramp space.    

New DJI Model Features Triple Camera System

On 25 April 2023, DJI introduced its new Mavic 3 Pro flagship drone. The contraption features a triple camera system housing Mavic’s renowned Hasselblad camera and two tele cameras; a 43-minute maximum flight duration; DJI’s signature Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing; and 15-kilometer HD Video Transmission.

System Deployment Slated for Q4 2023

Duncan Aviation, in partnership with Gogo Business Aviation, is about the business of actively developing several additional 5G Supplemental Type Certifications (STCs) for Gogo’s inchoate 5G system. Duncan seeks to provision multiple models of popular business aircraft with 5G capability.

Circle-To-Land Maneuver A maneuver initiated by the pilot to align the aircraft with a runway for landing when a straight-in landing from an instrument approach is not possible or is not desirable. At tower controlled airports, this maneuver is made only after ATC authorization has been obtained and the pilot has established required visual reference to the airport.
