Gulfstream Aerospace announced Sunday at NBAA 2008 the
introduction of its newest super mid-size business jet, the
Gulfstream G250. An update to the Israel Aerospace
Industries-sourced G200, the G250 will offer the largest cabin and
the longest range at the fastest speed in its class, according to
Gulfstream.
In a Sunday morning conference at NBAA 2008, Dassault Falcon
launched its new 'EASy Phase II' series of enhancements to the
already capable EASy flight deck.
King Air 350i, Hawker 450XP Added To Company's Diverse
Offerings
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation had the honor Sunday of revealing
two new aircraft programs... the new Beechcraft King Air 350i, and
Hawker 450XP. With particular attention paid to significant
customer upgrades, Hawker Beechcraft tells ANN both aircraft will
offer passengers greatly improved levels of luxury and inflight
entertainment.
Company Also Reflects On First Year Under DAE Oversight
StandardAero announced Sunday at NBAA 2008 the company will be
the launch partner and handle the initial Supplemental Type
Certificate (STC) for Honeywell’s DU-875 flight deck upgrade
program for Falcon 900C and EX series aircraft. The upgrade program
will replace the existing Honeywell Primus 2000 DU-870 cathode ray
tube (CRT) displays with new Honeywell DU-875 liquid crystal
displays (LCD).
An apparent midair collision of two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters
in northern Baghdad has killed one and injured four soldiers,
according to US military reports.
Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. will showcase how it
delivers successful trips to business aviation operators at the
National Business Aviation Association's 61st Annual Meeting and
Convention (NBAA2008), held in Orlando, FL on October 6-8.

Museum Features Text In Exhibit Marking Israel's 60-Year
Anniversary

Ilan Ramon will be shown for the first time as part of an exhibit
of famous documents from Israel's history on display at the Israel
Museum. Opening on Sunday, the exhibit is in honor of Israel's
60-year anniversary.
Capitalizing on its strength in aerospace engineering and
participation in a recent multi-year, multi-million dollar grant
from the State of Florida, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
announced recently the establishment of a Center of Excellence as
part of its College of Engineering. The center will be devoted to
advanced research in aeronautics and propulsion systems.
BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company Dallas
Airmotive is tooling up to service PW308 series engines used on
Falcon 2000EX/DX and Hawker 4000, as delivery of these new business
jets increases. Dallas Airmotive is the only OEM authorized,
independent repair and overhaul facility for the PW300 series in
North America where more than half of the aircraft using these
engines are based.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has selected eight
additional colleges or universities to participate in the Air
Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) program. Approved
colleges and universities in the program prepare and train students
interested in a career as an air traffic controller.
Delta Air Lines reported record load factors for September 2008
last week, with system, domestic and Latin American results at an
all-time high for the month of September over all of Delta's
history.
NASA has awarded five-year grants, averaging $7 million each, to
10 research teams from across the country, including two from
NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, to study the origins,
evolution, distribution and future of life in the universe.
Embraer celebrated the opening Thursday of its hangar at Bradley
International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT. This is the second of
three new service centers the company will have up and running in
the US for its executive jets this fall.

City area will experience the wonders of aviation at the upcoming
Challenge Air Fly Day, hosted by Executive Beechcraft. This
inspiring, once-in-a-lifetime introduction to aviation takes place
on Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 9am to 4pm at the Kansas City
Downtown Airport.
