An Up and Coming Flight Planning Tool Continues To Gain In Popularity, Part 2
Andy Matthews, the cofounder and Director of Business Development for iFlightPlanner spends some time to explain how the flight planning function of this app works. In this video, Matthews goes through the core flight planning sets which include routing, receiving an approved weather briefing, computation of the weight and balance, and then filing an FAA flight plan.
IFlight includes a GPS generated moving map display, as would be expected, and Matthews demonstrates the navigation capabilities and data retrieval functions. He also demonstrates how an approach plate can be overlaid on the map, and geo-referencing follows you through the approach. The entire flight is recorded and can automatically be synced up on iFlightPlanner.com
Matthews continues to describe the ease of pilot interface with the system, and the best way to learn more about it is to watch the video.
This is part 2 of the iFlightPlanner story; part 1 describes the preflight functions used prior to takeoff.
