Heli-Expo 2008: Versace, AgustaWestland Unveil New Cabin Interior

And If You Have To Ask, You'll Probably Never Ride In It

Italian companies Versace and AgustaWestland have partnered to bring a new level of opulence to rotorcraft cabins. One of their recent collaborations is on display at the 2008 Heli-Expo, currently underway in Houston, TX.

Companies officials say the interior for the private AW 139 -- a mockup of which is on display at the show -- "boasts the highest standards in style, comfort and technological performance.

"Versace is the first Maison to express its sophisticated, glamorous and exclusive lifestyle aesthetic in the field of aeronautics," notes a company release. "The partnership between AgustaWestland and Versace was born to satisfy demanding customers who require the best in terms of luxury and comfort, as well as the highest levels of functionality and safety."

The AW139 cabin can be configured to satisfy the most exclusive comfort requirements. Versace’s team of designers have focussed on research, creative development and the accurate accomplishment of every detail of the helicopter's interiors.

Versace says its style uses elements of classicism, combined with a very modern approach to elegance and comfort, in creating the six-place cabin.

"Excellence and expertise are well combined in this new interior design project by Versace," said Versace CEO Giancarlo Di Risio states. "Our Maison’s exclusive style and design aesthetic is featured at the highest level in the AW 139 helicopter, as it is the most luxurious and the largest private model."

In ANN's humble opinion... we think it looks just spiffy.
