While at the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) 2014 convention, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell stopped by the Sensenich propeller display to find out what this 80-year-old company that specializes in wood propellers was doing in the high-tech world of UAVs.
Steve Boser, the Chief Operating Officer of Sensenich Technologies pointed out that they have actually been making propellers for drones for about 40 years. Boser said they have been providing propellers for tactical UAVs for many years and they have continued to upgrade their technology to meet the challenges of the small unmanned aerial systems.
In this video you’ll find Sensenich continues to be a leader in wood propellers, but they have now moved into high-tech aluminum propeller blades and composite propellers. While they still make their bread and butter out of the tried and true airplane and airboat props, their high end technology is being devoted to UAV propulsion systems.
In this video you’ll see the classic Sensenich propellers sitting alongside their new high technology designs.
