Bristow Firms Up Agreement with Helicentre

Flight Training and Operations Will Cross-Promote, Offer Career Carryover

Bristow Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Helicentre Aviation to serve as its preferred provider of commercial pilot training.

The MOU will entwine the two companies, with Bristow supporting Helicentre with the promotion of future pilot career events, actively driving student pilot recruitment for the flight trainer. In return, Helicentre will be the go-to ab-initio pilot training and recruitment spot for Bristow in the United Kingdom, supporting both commercial air transport and SAR missions.

Helicentre has supported Bristow in the past, using the outfit as a selected partner for its sponsored UK cadet program, allowing students to take advantage of full funded training from zero all the way through an integrated CPL(H) level. Bristow also funds training for a multi-engine instrument rating under the cadet program, just another reason they get the more than 1,000 applications to join every year.

“The signing of the MOU with Helicentre formalizes a successful relationship that has been ongoing for the last 3-4 years. Helicentre is a key ab-initio training organization in the UK and the support they have provided Bristow with our sponsored cadet program has been invaluable. The formalizing of this relationship once again highlights Bristow’s commitment to nurturing the aviators of the future,” said Matt Rhodes, Bristow UK Director. “Our relationship with Helicentre and the diversity of our global helicopter business, has made Bristow the first choice for a career in rotary aviation and that has delivered many high-quality pilots over the years.”

“We take great pride in training pilots to fly for Bristow. The added incentive students receive as a result of ongoing interaction with one of the largest operators of rotary aircraft in the UK, adds to the overall gold standard training experience they can’t get anywhere else,” said Chris Line, Helicentre Aviation Chairman. “This MOU formalizes and reinforces the fact that so many of our students have gone on to have successful careers with Bristow, and our partnership will continue to ensure there is a steady supply of highly trained rotary pilots for the future.”
