Mooney GX Freedom Tour Coming To Ft Lauderdale

The folks at Mooney have been flying the new Ovation2 GX and Bravo GX on one of the most extensive tours in recent general aviation history. In mid-January, Mooney Airplane Company launched this 30-plus city, coast-to-coast Freedom Tour. The tour runs from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at Premier Aircraft Sales, located at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, 544 NW 23rd Avenue, Hangar 15.

"An overwhelming number of prospects and current customers have expressed interest in the new GX models," said David Copeland, Mooney Airplane Company vice president of sales and marketing. "The Freedom Tour will give a greater number of people the opportunity to see and, more importantly, to fly these in-demand aircraft. The planes are simply a work of art and exemplify outstanding flying qualities. When pilots return from their demonstration flights, they can't stop smiling."

The Ovation2 and Bravo GX both feature the new Garmin G1000 integrated avionics suite, helping the aircraft deliver the highest levels of performance, value and safety.

Launched in Scottsdale, Ariz., the Freedom Tour will continue to work its way throughout the United States, culminating at the 2005 Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., July 25-31. In addition to fixed-base operations (FBOs) across the country, it will have a presence at Lakeland, Fla., April 12-18.

Premier Aircraft Sales is hosting this leg of the journey. To participate in any of these events or reserve a demonstration flight, contact Michael Fabianac at (800) 903-8402.

Future Freedom Tour Dates
  • 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, April 9, Reliance Aviation, Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport, Miami, Fla.
  • Tuesday, April 12 - Monday, April 18, Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, Lakeland, Fla.
  • 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, April 23, Southern Jet, Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Raleigh, N.C.

Mooney's GX Aircraft

The Garmin G1000 avionics suite integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, weather, engine, and sensor data on two 10.4-inch, high-definition LCDs in the Ovation2 GX and Bravo GX. The multifunction displays (MFDs) put all aircraft-systems monitoring and flight-planning functions at the pilot's fingertips. They paint a composite view of the aircraft's environment, providing the pilot with all necessary information to make safe decisions during every phase of flight. Engine performance and situational data such as location, terrain, traffic, weather and airport information are all digitally depicted and can be quickly interpreted at a glance on large-format displays. Mooney began delivering GX models in December 2004 following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification of the Garmin G1000 avionics installation in the Ovation2 and Bravo models on November 22, 2004.
