MT Propeller STC Offers Performance Boost To 300 Series King Air Operators

Better Climb, Better Speed, Better Looks

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH, the German producer of composite aircraft  propellers, has received the Revision of the FAA STC SA03525NY for installing the Quiet Fan Jet 5-blade Propeller MTV-27-1-(E,N)-C-F-R(P)/CFR260-65b on the Beech King Air 300/350 series powered by P&WC PT6A-60A /-67A engines.

The STC is now also valid for the Beech King Air 300/350 with a MTOW up to 17,636 lbs. The installation is also certified by EASA STC 10050861 R4.

For purpose of retaining the interest of that part of Aero News’s readership that isn’t A&P certified, I’ll hasten to add that MT’s Quiet Fan propellers allegedly offer 300 series King Air operators numerous and significant advantages—to include: an eight-percent improvement in take-off and climb performance; a four to five knot increase in cruise-speed; bonded nickel alloy leading-edges for superior erosion protection; no on-ground, propeller speed restrictions [while operating in low idle]; more ground clearance for less FOD—though if FOD is incurred, the blades are repairable; no life limitation; an industry best, 4,500 hour/six-year TBO; and most importantly, drop-dead sexy ramp appeal.

MT-Propeller offers hydraulically-actuated, variable-pitch propeller systems comprising two to seven blades for engines producing up to five-thousand horsepower. The company also produces two to four-blade, electrically-actuated, variable-pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350hp. Finally, MT offers two-blade fixed-pitch propellers.

MT-Propeller holds over 220 STCs and serves as OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry, and 30% of the U.S. aircraft industry. The company’s propellers are designed for use on both turboprop and piston-engine aircraft, as well as on airships, wind tunnels, and hovercraft. Numerous MT products are supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.
