Aviation Capital Group Orders 25 More A320 Planes

Over 5,300 A318s-A321s Ordered To Date

US-based aircraft leasing company Aviation Capital Group (ACG) recently signed a firm contract for 25 additional A320 Family aircraft, including six A319s, 15 A320s and four A321s.

With this order, the company -- a subsidiary of Pacific LifeCorp -- will have 121 A320 Family aircraft in its portfolio.

"We decided to add more A320 Family aircraft to our portfolio because of high customer demand," said R. Stephen Hannahs, ACG Group Managing Director and CEO. "The A320 Family is a popular, highly fuel efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft which fits in perfectly with our long term strategy of providing modern and productive aircraft."

"Having ACG, one of the leading aircraft operating lease enterprises, come back for more A320 Family aircraft confirms that this Family continues very much in demand and responds to current and future market needs," said Airbus COO John Leahy. "The A320 Family is clearly the benchmark single-aisle aircraft which features highest passenger appeal combined with the lowest operating costs and lowest fuel burn, making it extremely environmentally friendly."

The A320 family of aircraft is by far Airbus' best-selling model line, with over 5,300 planes ordered. More than 3,200 planes have been delivered since the model line entered operational service in 1988.
