Dates And Location Confirmed For 2016
The African Business Aviation Association has announced that its 2016 symposium, AfBAC will be held in Cape Town, South Africa November 17-18. The African Business Aviation Conference will build on the success of the Regional Symposia series by addressing the continent’s Business Aviation sector as a whole, rather than regionally.
AfBAC will be held over two days incorporating familiar formats, alongside innovative new methods using social media to encourage inspired conversation. For the first time organisers will also incorporate an additional parallel-forum on day two of the event. A dedicated workshop exploring the future of aerial technologies - remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) - will be run under the guidance of a new working committee.
The revised conference format aims to encourage a wider range of stakeholder participation; expand themes centered around African Business Aviation on the international stage; and will bring together leading industry lights to discuss and debate the expansion of the sector in Africa, and its’ place in the global aerospace industry.
“The refreshed name reflects the continually evolving nature of the Association. We continue to be committed to providing our members with the best opportunities to be educated and informed about the African market and its place on the international landscape. To date our Regional Symposia have proved very popular and this next meeting will build on their success. It is time for our events to encompass the needs of the continent as a whole,” said Tarek Ragheb, Founding Chairman of AfBAA.
“Cape Town is a key hub for South African Business Aviation which supports a dynamic business and leisure economy. It is also an exciting destination with a lively atmosphere, great climate and beautiful topography. This makes it a highly desirable venue and we anticipate our biggest turnout yet at AfBAC 2016,” commented Rady Fahmy, CEO of AfBAA. “As with previous events AfBAA will be seeking corporate sponsors, delegates and speakers to participate, and encourages all those with an interest in Africa to get involved.
