Two Prototype Aircraft Currently In Test Fleet
Enstrom reports that it is making progress in its certification program for the TH-180 helicopter.
The program currently has two prototype aircraft in the certification program. One is in flight test and the other (pictured) is engaged in a 100-hour ground run which is a rugged test of the drive system and controls. Several tests have been completed and the program is steadily progressing toward certification by the end of this year.
Enstrom, together with its ownership in China, continues finalization of the design based on results from the development flight test program. Flight testing of the TH-180 will continue to ramp-up as test plans are completed and approved by the FAA. Enstrom is working closely with the FAA and EASA for concurrent certification of the TH-180.
“The TH-180 will provide a safe, reliable, efficient, and best-value solution for the piston-powered light helicopter training market and look forward to completing the certification program with the airworthiness authorities”, said Orlando Alaniz, TH-180 co-Program Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing.
Founded in 1959, Enstrom Helicopter Corporation designs and produces light single-engine helicopters for the global market. Missions include helicopter training, police and wildlife patrol, aerial photography and tours, ag spray and livestock management, and personal transportation.
