Luminati Aerospace brought the latest iteration of their gyroplane to Oshkosh 2021. The company has been busy, setting records with their solar-powered, perpetual flight airplane and developing their all-electric rotorcraft systems. With Gyrodyne’s plans for the QH50, they now have a small portfolio of small gyro projects in the mix. Their Yron now has their 124 horsepower electric motor, capable of almost an hour of hover time.
Their displayed gyro showed off their proprietary, custom nacelles, which grant the 260 pound aircraft a sporty 340 pounds of thrust. Its hot rod performance allows the gyrocopter to hit a top speed of 208 knots, one of the fastest of its type. Plans to offer a production version of the aircraft are in the works, with a target price around $160,000.
