Edwards Out At Bombardier!

Pierre Beaudoin Will Fill In Temporarily

A surprise announcement from Montreal: Bombardier Aerospace CEO Pete Edwards is out.

"He left to pursue other interests," spokesman John Paul Macdonald told the Canadian Press.

Edwards, who spent ten years with the Canadian aerospace manufacturer, was named CEO of the aviation unit in 2001. So far this year, the aerospace operation at Bombardier has been the company's profit leader.

There was no immediate indication whether the reason for Edwards' (below, center) abrupt departure go any deeper than his desire to "pursue other interests."

In his place, CFO Pierre Beaudoin will run the shop as Bombardier looks for a replacement. That process could be a lengthy one, according to MacDonald.

"...He [Beaudoin] knows the business very well. We're going to take the time necessary to find the right person for the job," MacDoland told the CP.
