Aero-TV: One Aviation's Eclipse 550 - The Little Jet That Could... And Still Can

The 'Littlest BizJet' Builds Toward A Powerful Future

While at NBAA2015, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, talked with Alan Klapmeier, the CEO of One Aviation. The key product line of One Aviation is the Eclipse 550 personal jet and the Kestrel, which is a single-engine turboprop still in the development stage.

Production of the Eclipse series of personal jets has been an on and off affair until One Aviation got into the picture. Their current product, the Eclipse 550, is a mature version of the original airplane and is unique in the market as a twin-engine jet that can be easily flown by the pilot/owner.

Klapmeier says production for the jet is ramping up. On the order front, he points to the recent partnering of One Aviation with Jinggong General Aviation in China that will result in an order for 20 airplanes spread out over the next few years. However, he says the broader spectrum of orders in Europe and the U.S. is also good.

The conversation continues to discuss unique ways the aircraft can be used, and also touches on refurbishment programs that One Aviation is making available for the legacy model Eclipse jets. The Eclipse jet is here to stay, and this video provides some insight as to how One Aviation will make that happen.
