Mid-Continent Instruments Introduces MD835 Emergency Power Supply

Lithium Nanophosophate Technology Much Lighter Than Competitors

Mid-Continent Instruments introduces the industry's first emergency power supply featuring Lithium Nanophosphate technology. The MD800 Series automatically provides power for standby equipment during aircraft power loss or interruption. The MD835 may be used as a direct replacement for older Goodrich PS-835 units.

"We are excited about this new product because of its numerous benefits," said Tom Genovese, Director of Sales. "Lower weight, lower cost, extended maintenance intervals, and the use of Lithium supports our green initiatives. We truly get the lead out with this product."

MCI tells Aero-News the MD800 Series utilizes cutting-edge technology to offer distinct advantages over standard lead acid designs. Most significantly, it weighs only 4.5 pounds -- 8 pounds less than the competition. In addition to weighing less, it charges faster, costs less and is easier to maintain.

Retrofit should be convenient and affordable, Mid-Continent says, because the 4.6 amp-hour battery system uses the same mating connector and mounts in a standard 1/4 ATR rack.

New Lithium technology improves useful life, which provides the MD800 Series with a less demanding maintenance schedule and lowers overall ownership costs. The MD800 Series requires a bi-annual capacity check as opposed to the traditional 12-month requirement of existing models. The 10-year life expectancy is more than three times that of the nearest competition.
