Air Transport International Pilots Ratify New Three-Year Deal

Includes Significant Pay Raises And Scheduling Improvements

The pilots of Air Transport Int’l (ATI), represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), have ratified a three-year collective bargaining agreement with significant pay raises and extensive scheduling improvements. Of the nearly 94 percent of ATI pilots who voted, 77 percent cast ballots in favor of the deal.

“This agreement includes substantial increase in salaries while at the same time vastly improving our work rules and our pilots’ quality of life,” said Capt. Michael Sterling, chairman of the ATI pilot group.

The deal includes 41–51 percent average pay raises for captains and 45–55 percent average pay increases for first officers depending on years of service, an additional 14 percent in rate hikes during the three years covered by the deal, extensive scheduling improvements, and enhanced travel benefits.

“Our new contract recognizes the significant contributions our pilots make to the success of ATI,” Sterling said, “and simultaneously places us in a strategic position to increase ATI’s relationship with our primary customers Amazon and DHL,” Sterling said. ATI is a charter cargo and combination passenger and cargo aircraft operation.

The parties had been in negotiations since March 2014 and were scheduled to begin mediated negotiations under the guidance of the National Mediation Board when the deal was reached February 2.
