AAR Partners With Spartan College For Internal Technician Training

Agreement Allows AAR Employees To Take Advantage Of University Programs

AAR Aircraft Services (AAR) has reached an agreement to utilize Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology to perform technician training and support in its Oklahoma City facility. Through this agreement Spartan College will provide AAR employees with online and on location technical training for initial, recurrent, aircraft type specific and airline customer training. The agreement relieves AAR of the burden of maintaining, managing and staffing a training department while also benefitting from the core competencies of Spartan College in education.

Wayne Jamroz, General Manager and Vice President of Operations for the Oklahoma City operations of AAR, called the new arrangement “a breath of fresh air for the industry” and anticipates productivity gains among the workforce because of the new approach. “Our organizations will be better together as we each focus on what we do best.”

“Spartan is the global leader in aviation maintenance training, and this arrangement is a natural extension of what we do every day,” commented Peter Harris, the recently appointed President and CEO of Spartan College. “We are delighted to work even more closely with AAR, a recognized industry leader in its field.”

For the past 3 years, AAR and Spartan College have maintained a Bridge Program that allows graduates of Spartan’s Aviation Maintenance program to be hired by AAR and receive tuition reimbursement of up to $10,500 so long as the student commits to stay with AAR for a defined period of time.
