Aero-Terms!

Aero-Terms are designed to be a daily reminder of the terms, names, acronyms and explanations of the unique language that populates the aviation world. Aerospace, sport aviation, fixed wing, helo, you name it... it's all fair game.

Mechanical Blockage Thrust Reverser

A type of thrust reverser that uses a pair of clamshell doors set into the tail cone of the engine. When deployed, the doors deflect the exhaust gases forward, thus creating reverse thrust to slow the aircraft down in a shorter distance.
