Boeing Paid CEO McNerney $18.4 Million In 2011

Figure Is A 34% Boost Over 2010 Compensation

Boeing CEO Jim McNerney received salary and bonuses totaling some $18.4 million in 2011, according to company documents filed Friday. The figure represents a 34 percent increase over his 2010 compensation package.

According to the Associated Press, which crunched the numbers in the Boeing document, much of the boost came from incentives, up nearly $9 million. The 62 year old executive was rewarded for delivery of the Dreamliner, as well as the award of the K-46 contract last year.

It wasn't the maximum McNerney could have earned. Delays in the 787 and 747-8 programs cost him some of the budgeted incentive pay.

The figure is for the total compensation package, which includes stock options and perks such as use of the company airplanes. Not bad on a base salary of $1.9 million.
