Members To Have Access To Military Trainers For Solo Use
Fly History, LLC announced the debut of their new membership
program this week, making it possible for everyday pilots to
train-in, qualify and have solo access to a variety of historic
military trainer aircraft in a club-like setting. Qualified members
have unlimited access to utilize the aircraft for both training and
pleasure excursions without the cost, risk and maintenance hassles
associated with direct ownership.
Few pilots ever have the opportunity to join the ranks of those
who fly the T-6 Texan, T-34 Mentor or PT-17 Stearman. For most, the
exposure to exciting, historic aircraft such as these is limited to
viewing at air shows, or possibly, a one-time scenic flight as a
passenger. The Fly History program gives members an opportunity to
become a warbird pilot, with the training and confidence it takes
to master these exceptional aircraft.
Fly History members will realize a variety of unique benefits
and opportunities:
- Exclusivity: Fly History is a very limited
membership program, ensuring high aircraft availability. Once
initial membership positions are filled, a waiting list will be
maintained for future prospective members.
- Training: A guided training path, utilizing
experienced private instructors to provide qualification services
to members for every aircraft type on the Fly History flight line.
Members must meet certain training and experience requirements
prior to being qualified for solo flight in the program.
- Variety: Beyond single aircraft ownership; Fly
History membership provides access to multiple, different aircraft
that few pilots ever get to add to their logbooks. Flight line
aircraft will include the T-6 Texan, T-34 Mentor and PT-17
Stearman.
- Member's Club: Fly History will organize
fly-outs and collective trips to bring the aircraft to major events
such as Sun-n-Fun and AirVenture. Members are encouraged not to
just attend an air show, but to fly-in and display their Warbird
for everyone's enjoyment.
- Membership without risk: No worrying about
maintenance, storage and unexpected bills. Membership fees and
hourly rates are fixed. Following the first year membership fee,
members may discontinue at any time without the financial penalties
and hassles of selling an aircraft.
- Membership that travels: As Fly History
expands to new locations across the country; members will have the
same access to aircraft when they travel, as they do at home.
Membership program costs include an initiation fee (waived for
charter members), as well as fixed monthly and hourly usage fees.
The fees cover all the costs of maintaining, insuring, and
operating the aircraft. They are fixed on an annual basis. Thus,
there are no unpleasant surprises when the plane comes out of an
annual, an engine doesn't make TBO, or the avionics require repair
or replacement. Costs vary by location, and are typically a
fraction of what sole ownership costs would be for the
aircraft.
Fly History is opening locations in Boston, MA; Westchester, NY;
Dallas, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Orlando, FL and Atlanta, GA. A limited
number of charter memberships are available in these areas.
Initiation Fees are waived for charter members and other benefits
apply.
