Airborne 03.04.24: Colorado Pilots, JetPack Race!, Air Race Classic

Also: Tamarack Cleared, Boeing & Spirit, Veris VR Flight Simulator, New IAC Boss

The Colorado Pilots Association has called upon its members, friends, and stakeholders throughout the state to push back on the imposition of HB24-1235, "Reduce Aviation Impacts on Communities" in its current form.

They contend that the "bill would be bad not just for Colorado aviation, but as a precedent nationwide," thanks to stipulations that are decidedly unfriendly to aviation as a whole. The bill has a handful of elements and grant establishing mechanisms nestled inside that could very easily be used to stifle aviation operations and further regulate smaller airfields into oblivion... Gravity Industries' powered jetpack/jacket got to kick off its first race in the 2024 series, starting off in Dubai with a 7-man stack. The race garnered headlines around the world promising an eye-popping sprint of jetpack-equipped racers bobbing and weaving in between high-altitude skyscrapers. Women from across the country and around the world will take off on June 18th from the Southern Illinois Airport in Carbondale, Illinois as they strike out on a 2,628-statute mile competition across 11 states. They'll pull into the station a few days later, on Friday, June 21st when they show up at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport in Loveland, Colorado. It will make the 47th year the Air Race Classic has been open. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
