Leapfrogs Schedule 2003 Air Shows

Navy Skydivers to Perform in CA, GA, TN

The U.S. Navy Parachute Team, the Leap Frogs, begins its 2003 show season with a jump at the Navy Junior Officer Training Corps Western Region Competition March 29 in El Segundo, Calif.

The team, which just concluded its rigorous three-month winter training, honed it skills in canopy relative work, free fall formations and use of pyrotechnics. Special attention was given to employing the highest safety standards.

The following is the Leap Frogs 2003 schedule through August:

  • March 29 El Segundo (CA)
  • April 3 San Diego (CA)
  • April 5 San Diego (CA)
  • April 7 Los Angeles (CA)
  • April 25-27 Dobbins Air Force Base (GA)
  • May 16-17 Baltimore (MD)
  • May 21 Fountain Valley (CA)
  • May 30-June 2 Millington (TN)
  • June 14 Coronado (CA)
  • June 20-22 Akron (OH) 
  • June 27-29 Newport (RI) 
  • July 31-August 3 Seattle (WA)
  • August 15-17 Kansas City (MO) 
  • August 22-24 Williamsport (PA) 

Events listed are subject to change.

The Leap Frogs are comprised of SEAL (SEa, Air, and Land) and SWCC (Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman) commandos. Both elite groups are part of the Naval Special Warfare Command, based in Coronado, Calif. The parachutists come to the team for a three-year tour, then return to operational units.
