Pipistrel eVTOL 801 Model on Display

Leading Candidate in the UBER VTOL Project

Slovenia-based Pipistrel Vertical Solutions threw its hat into the eVTOL ring recently by revealing a multi-fan electric airplane with vertical take-off and landing capability at Uber’s Elevate Summit in Washington, D.C.

Pipistrel unveiled the 801 as a five-occupant winged aircraft capable of a 60-mile range at 175 MPH or more.

The 801 has eight shrouded fans mounted in the bottom of two low-aspect ratio wing structures with a conventional wing outboard of that, with a single propulsive unit for forward thrust. (The 8 refers to the number of fans, the 0 for no tilt rotors and 1, the horizontal propulsor)

A 25% scale model of the Pipistrel 801 eVTOL aircraft is on display at our site along with one of the projects head engineers to answer any questions media may have about this exciting new project.
