Note To Airline Pilots: Don't Let Passengers Fly The Plane

That Holds True Even When The Passengers Are Attractive Celebrities

Here's an example of some pretty bad judgement on the part of a Mexican airline captain. On a recent Magnicharters airline flight between Cancun and Mexico City, an unnamed pilot allowed  23-year-old singer Esmeralda Ugalde (pictured) and her 19-year-old actress friend Samadhi Zendejas to sit in the left seat of the airplane wearing the pilot's hat.

It might have gone unnoticed, but as people of that age (and many of the rest of us) do, a photo was taken and posed on Twitter. Uglade reportedly has about 40,000 followers on the social media site, and the photo quickly went viral.

To make matters worse, the plane was in the air, and full of passengers.

Fox News reports that the pilot is no longer with the airline. Company spokesman Jorge Badia told the New York Daily News "We cannot allow a pilot to make this kind of mistake, it is just not allowed. Even if the autopilot was working it is not allowed to do something like this. We cannot even allow people to enter the cabin, even if they are actors or actresses."

Mexican aviation regulations prevent visitors in the cockpits of airliners.

Ugalde is the sister of  Latin Grammy Award winner Ana Barbara. Zendejas said that the airplane was still on the ground when the photo was taken, but the pilot had already admitted that the airplane was airborne when the incident occurred.
