Cobham Digital Control System Audio Selected For AW119Kx Helicopter

LifeFlight Will Install The DACS In 15 New Aircraft

Cobham’s Digital Audio Control System (DACS) has been selected for Life Flight Network’s fifteen new AgustaWestland AW119Kx single-engine helicopters. Life Flight Network of Aurora, Oregon – one of the world’s leading air medical transport providers – is the first customer for the AW119Kx and will be taking delivery of the aircraft during 2013.

DACS is forward-fit on more medium and heavy helicopters than any other digital audio system in the world, including AgustaWestland’s very successful GrandNew.

Cobham Aerospace Communication’s DACS distributes and controls aircraft audio to/from all transceivers, receivers, and audio warning systems. It’s compact and lightweight, maximizing space utilization and enhancing payload capacity. The system is flexible and configurable to specific customer specifications utilizing DACS software.

Cobham specializes in meeting the demand for data, connectivity and bandwidth in defense, security and commercial environments. Cobham Aerospace Communications designs and manufactures navigation, communication and airborne networking products and systems for commercial, business and military aircraft. Cobham Aerospace Communications is recognized as a system provider for intercoms and integrated audio panels, including the Radio Audio Integrated Management System (RAIMS) for the Airbus A380 and A350. The business is also a provider of aircraft lighting, on-board man machine interfaces and microwave systems and components such as diodes and modules, ferrite devices, RF filters, and waveguides.
