First Production Learjet 23 to Fly Record Flight

In an ambitious endeavor to pay homage to aviation history and support preservation efforts, a team in Wichita, Kansas has embarked on a speed record attempt with a noble cause at its heart. The mission, led by Global Jet Care, aims to circumnavigate the globe, starting and ending in Wichita, in a bid to set a new speed record while generating funds for the Classic Learjet Foundation. The focus of the fundraising efforts is the restoration of the Learjet 23-003, a significant piece of aviation history as the first business jet to emerge from Learjet’s Wichita production line in the mid-1960s.

Skydive the Falls Jump Group to See Eclipse During Plunge

In a unique event organized by Skydive the Falls, a group of 30 skydivers will take to the sky to experience the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, in a breathtaking manner. The jump is planned to coincide with the moment of totality, allowing the skydivers to witness the celestial phenomenon while in freefall. The skydiving center, located near Niagara Falls, has arranged for three airplanes to carry the participants, who come from various parts of the U.S.

CAF Cadet Jason Morales soloed last month, on March 19, at HCH Aviation in Nacogdoches, Texas. Morales is the 7th CAF Ray Foundation Scholar to achieve this goal. Morales is a member of the Houston Wing and is being mentored by CAF Colonel Matt Brozstowski. As part of the CAF Ray Scholarship program, Morales can receive up to $12,000 to cover his flight training through the CAF’s mentorship program, which is sponsored by the Ray Foundation. Morales, also attending Stephen F. Austin University’s flight program, has been able to go through the process quickly. His check ride is scheduled for June.

Engine Stopped Producing Power And The Pilot Performed A Forced Landing To A Field

On March 14, 2024, at 1442 eastern daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Glasair Sportsman 2+2, N76TG, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Fort Meade, Florida. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot, he and his passenger departed Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL), Lakeland, Florida, at 1430 to return to Fly In Ranches Airport (FD25), Vero Beach, Florida.
