HFI Encourages Scholarship Applications

Up To 18 Awards To Be Made To Students In Helicopter Industry

Helicopter Foundation International has announced it is now accepting applications for 18 scholarships. Students currently enrolled in school and working toward a career in rotorcraft are eligible for partial coverage of tuition. Applications and more information are available at www.helicopterfoundation.org.

HFI offers four different types of scholarship. The first is the Commercial Rating Helicopter Scholarship, which will be awarded to pilots who already have their private certificates and are in the process of attaining their commercial ratings. Up to four of these scholarships will be awarded. HFI will also be awarding up to six Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarships to students studying to become maintenance technicians. Up to seven Bill Sanderson Scholarships will be awarded to students in the maintenance technician field. Finally, the foundation will award the Michelle North Scholarship for Safety, for pilots who have already attained their commercial ratings and have shown outstanding ability for safe flying and practices.

Applicants must meet all necessary prerequisites to be considered, and late applications will not be considered. The deadline for the Commercial Rating, Maintenance Technician, and Michelle North scholarships is November 30, 2011, and the deadline for the Bill Sanderson Scholarships is December 30, 2011.
