Applies To Cessna 425 Turboprops
Meggitt/S-TEC says the FAA has
approved an STC for the installation of the MAGIC Electronic Flight
Instrument System (EFIS) and MAGIC Engine Instrument Display System
(EIDS) combined with a MAGIC 2100 Digital Flight Control System
(DFCS) on Cessna 425 turboprop aircraft.
The company says EFIS and EIDS installation gives pilots a
functional, digital, electronic instrument panel that offers the
highest cockpit technology for twin turboprop operators. The EFIS
and EIDS are contained in a set of LCD flat-panel displays that are
only 4.5 inches high and 5.6 inches wide. They provide a
high-definition presentation that is easily readable in all light
conditions and that greatly reduces pilot workload.
The MAGIC 2100 DFCS is a three axis, fully digital,
attitude-based Flight Control System that brings jet functionality
to the twin turboprop market. The clear, easily understood LCD
display with both an Integrated Altitude Pre-Selector and Indicated
Airspeed Hold function offers excellent flight control in all
conditions. And with Cockpit Voice Annunciation and active and
armed modes displayed, better situational awareness is
attained.
Meggitt/S-TEC says this STC approval is a continuation of its
long-term strategy to provide glass cockpit technology for the twin
turboprop aftermarket. If you're hot to get one, the company is hot
to sell it to you. Meggitt says production units for the Cessna 425
are being taken right now through the Meggitt Authorized Dealer
network.
